Expenses
- Inclusive (Loaded) Rate: single fee that bundles consulting + expected expenses.
- Rate + Expenses: consulting fee plus travel, lodging, business insurance, short-term SaaS, and local transportation billed at actuals.
Choice depends on project length, travel complexity, and purchasing rules. We’ll recommend the most cost-effective option.
Payment & Scheduling
- Invoices issued via Stripe; ACH/credit accepted.
- For fixed projects: 50% retainer to reserve start, balance at delivery.
- For retainers: invoiced monthly in advance.
Recognized non-profits demonstrating financial need and clear community benefit may be considered for limited, case-by-case adjustments.
Cancellations & Changes
- Project work: shift windows as availability allows; retainers maintain reserved hours.
- Speaking events follow the speaking agreement (see Speaking page).

Do you work with municipalities and sheriff’s offices?
Yes—most of our work is with local agencies and regional associations. We align with your purchasing rules and provide clear scopes, W-9, and COI when needed.
What’s included in a flat-rate project?
A defined deliverable, timeline, and review window. If the scope changes, we’ll confirm a simple change order before proceeding.
How do you handle travel and expenses?
Either bundled into an inclusive (loaded) rate or billed at actuals (economy/main-cabin airfare, hotel at event property or comparable, ground/parking; mileage at IRS business rate; M&IE aligned with GSA per-diem).
Is there a discount for recognized non-profits?
Case-by-case. Documented financial need and clear community benefit may qualify for limited adjustments.
What happens on the discovery call?
We confirm outcomes, constraints, and timeline in 15–20 minutes. If there’s a fit, you’ll receive a brief scope, quote, and next steps the same day.
Can work be remote, onsite, or hybrid?
Yes. Many consults run remote; workshops and leadership sessions are often onsite. We’ll propose the most efficient format for your goals.
